The latest prank from Tea Party Prankster Robert Erickson!

(Minneapolis) –At a book signing in Minneapolis, recently declared the hippest and gayest city in America, local activist Robert Erickson greeted 2012 GOP presidential contender and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich with a shower of rainbow glitter.

“Feel the Rainbow!” Erickson shouted. Gingrich was conducting the book signing as part of The Minnesota Family Council  & Institute Annual Dinner 2011 celebration. The MFC has been an instrumental mover of a marriage inequality amendment that would enshrine discrimination in Minnesota’s state constitution.

“Since Newt is hanging with the Family Council, I figured he needed a shiny dose of Minnesota Nice to counteract the hate embraced by those who are pushing this divisive bill,” Erickson said. “Of course, he might have to explain all the glitter to his third wife, Callista.”

Minneapolis was recently named the hippest, gayest city in America,” the young prankster said. “The latest polling by the Star Tribune shows that anti-gay hate is not going to help you get elected.”

A Minnesota Poll released Friday by the Star Tribune revealed that fifty-five percent of respondents said they oppose the anti-gay amendment while 39 percent favor a constitutional ban on gay marriage. The results were reversed from seven years ago.

Speaker Gingrich secretly bankrolledmore than one-third of the $850,000 campaign to remove Iowa justices who had ruled that marriage discrimination violated the state constitution, Erickson noted. “Funding virulently anti-LGBT hate groups isn’t going to be the way to Minnesota’s heart.”

The fictional persona Robert Erickson first made national news when he infiltrated an anti-immigrant Tea Party rally, inciting the crowd to chant “Columbus Go Home!” He showed up in headlines again last summer when he poured 2,000 pennies on a table in front of Minnesota GOP Governor candidate Tom Emmer, after he proposed to cut wages for servers and waitstaff.
